The Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship (PGT) rewards high-achieving international students (including students from the EU) starting a postgraduate taught master's programme in 2023.

Amount:

£2,500 tuition fee reduction

Open to:

All new international students starting a one-year full-time postgraduate master's programmes in September 2023 who:

• achieve a UK first-class undergraduate degree award or equivalent qualification as defined by the University of Liverpool.

• are studying at the Liverpool campus.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for this award you must:

• be liable to pay full tuition fees at the overseas/international rate

• be starting a new postgraduate master’s programme in academic year 2023 at the campus in Liverpool.

• achieve a first class degree or equivalent qualification - as defined by the University of Liverpool

• The award will not be available to students who have studied at Liverpool International College, XJTLU or completed their Undergraduate degree at Liverpool, as these students have their own scholarship provision. 

• The award will not be available to students who are sponsored (by their government or commercial organisation), as these students are fully funded.

• Students undertaking the MArch programme or an MPhil qualification are not eligible for a Vice- Chancellors International Attainment Scholarship- PGT Award.

The Duncan Norman Research Scholarship at the University of Liverpool was established in 2004 following the receipt of a generous donation from The Duncan Norman Charitable Trust in memory of the late Duncan Norman.

Amount

A scholarship shall be awarded annually and competition therefore is very strong.

This prestigious Scholarship consists of the following funding and research support:

• Competitive annual maintenance stipend of £17,000 (or top-up to this level of maintenance if the candidate is in receipt of another source of funding)

• Full payment of tuition fees (Home, EU or Overseas)

• Free University accommodation of up to £4,635 pa or an allowance of the same amount for students wishing to live off campus

• Laptop or desktop computer of up to £1000 in value

• Support for conference expenses of up to £500 in years 2 & 3.

Open to

The Scholarship is open for application to all prospective full-time postgraduate research students irrespective of nationality, tuition fee status or subject area.

Eligibility criteria

It is expected that, where possible, all candidates for the Duncan Norman Research Scholarship should also have made an application to secure funding from alternate sources for a postgraduate studentship. If offered, the studentship must be accepted, and in such circumstances the Duncan Norman Research Scholarship would provide additional top up funding.

The holders of the Scholarship must register for a PhD at the University of Liverpool and attend any events based in Liverpool that are organised by the Duncan Norman Charitable Trust.

The University is pleased to be able to offer scholarships to talented athletes competing at national and regional levels.

The University, in partnership with Chevening, is delighted to offer this generous scholarship to students who are studying a master's programme and who have future leadership potential.

Please note that there is a fee cap applied to MBA programmes that requires applicants to cover any additional tuition costs over £18,000. You will still receive all additional allowances.

The scholarship is open to all subjects offered as a one-year taught master's programme. 

The University is delighted to be able to award five University of Liverpool International College students who achieve the highest academic excellence (minimum of 75% in a UoLIC Pre-Master's programme the prestigious UoLIC Excellence Scholarship.

Amount:

£5,000 tuition fee reduction.

Open to:

Five students who achieve the highest academic attainment (minimum 75%) in UoLIC Pre-Master's programmes who are progressing from UoLIC onto a University of Liverpool master's programme.

The University of Liverpool International College (UoLIC) First Class Award is available to non-EU international students who have progressed from UoLIC to a non-clinical, undergraduate degree programme at the University of Liverpool who achieve an overall average of 70% or above in any year of study excluding final year. 

About the Award

International (non-EU) fee-paying students who achieve an overall average of 70% or over will receive £1,000 off tuition fees each year of their (non-clinical) degree at the University of Liverpool excluding final year.

• be liable to pay full tuition fees at the overseas rate

• be continuing on a non-clinical undergraduate programme

• have achieved an overall average of 70% or over in any year at the University of Liverpool (excluding final year) after progressing from UoLIC

The Vice Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship is intended to reward high-achieving non-EU international students starting at the University of Liverpool in 2023.

About the award

All new international students starting full-time non-clinical (see below) undergraduate programmes in September 2023 who achieve AAA+ in UK A level exams or equivalent will receive a £3,000 fee reduction for their first year of study. 

Please kindly note, if you are an offer holder from one of the University’s partner colleges (BAC, HELP, INTI & Taylors), offering the Law transfer programme in Malaysia there is a separate non-tiered scholarship available which will have been communicated to you via your counselling team.  This is a £2,500 flat rate fee reduction for first year of study, award criteria as specified below:

The Scholarship will be deducted from tuition fees and will only be available for the first year of study.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this award you must:

• be liable to pay full tuition fees at the overseas rate

• be starting a new non-clinical (see below) undergraduate programme in academic year 2023/4

• achieve AAA grades in A levels or equivalent qualification.

Students will be assessed on the qualifications used to gain entry into the University only.

The University of Liverpool Commonwealth Postgraduate Bursary fee reduction for students from Commonwealth countries new to studying at the University of Liverpool on master’s programmes.

The Liverpool Law School is offering four bursaries for students joining its taught LLM programme. Awards will help students with their tuition fees. They are offered to encourage the best students, from the UK, Europe and internationally, to join the expanding LLM programme. There are two bursaries worth £500 each available to two students classified as 'home students' and two bursaries of £1,000 each available to two international students.

Eligibility criteria

Liverpool Law School LLM Bursaries will be awarded on the basis of merit.

Academic performance in earlier degrees they have taken, as well as any other practical or intellectual achievements, will be taken into account.

As part of this commitment, we are offering the Humanitarian Scholarship Programme for international students wishing to continue their academic careers at postgraduate level. This scholarship is open to support people who have recognised status as either refugees or are under humanitarian protection under the 1951 Refugee Convention. This status must be held outside of the UK.

Amount:

The awards cover full tuition fees, visas and support for accommodation and living expenses.

There are up to 3 awards for one year each.

Open to:

The scholarship is open for all postgraduate-taught programmes, excluding medicine, dentistry, veterinary and nursing.

Eligibility criteria

Our scholarships are intended to support individuals at risk who have been granted protection under the 1951 Refugee Convention and are intended for those who could not afford to study at the University of Liverpool without a scholarship.

 To apply for a scholarship, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Be a new international student to The University of Liverpool in the academic year 2023/24.

• Have recognised status as either a refugee or under humanitarian protection under the 1951 Refugee Convention granted outside of the UK.

If you're a current international University of Liverpool undergraduate or alumni, including Study Abroad and Exchange students and students from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, progressing to either a full or part-time new postgraduate taught programme you’re eligible to receive our Postgraduate Progression Award.

• £2,500 reduction in tuition fees for the first year of study

Open to

The Postgraduate Progression Award is available to all international University of Liverpool undergraduate students or alumni (including students/graduates from the EU) considering a new postgraduate taught/master's course, including MRes qualifications, at our Liverpool campus.  

• £2500 if you have a first class undergraduate degree

• 10% reduction in fees if you have a 2:1 or 2:2.

Eligibility criteria

The Postgraduate Progression Award is not eligible to the following groups of students:

• Students registered with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.

• Students transferring to the University of Liverpool from partnership institutions where an alternative fee payment or scholarship arrangement has been made.

Please note, additional funding is provided by the University and may possibly be combined with the Management School scholarships and awards listed although students are limited to a maximum of a 50% fee discount.

No additional application is necessary, eligible students will be considered for our scholarships once they have received a programme offer.

Applicants will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis so early programme application is advised.

The ULMS Attainment Award and ULMS Progress to Postgraduate Award are applied to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, providing that they would not exceed the 50% threshold.

ULMS MBA Excellence Scholarship

50% and 30% waivers available

Open to

Home*/Overseas applicants on the Liverpool MBA and the Football Industries MBA on-campus programmes.

Applicants that have achieved academic and professional excellence will be considered.  Candidates must hold at least a high 2:1 (65+% in their undergraduate or postgraduate degree); have four or more years of professional/managerial experience and be able to demonstrate leadership potential. 

Please note that scholarship selection is based purely on these factors; we are unable to award scholarships based on requests relating to financial need.

Deadline

Early programme applications are advised as awards will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
