Francis Doyle

Francis has a BA in Sonic Arts from Middlesex University as well as a Trinity College certificate in TESOL. Over the past 25 years he has experienced living in Japan several times and has a strong connection with the country. He has taught English for over 9 years in Japan and the UK. He specialises in teaching academic writing, speaking and IELTS / TOEFL / TOEIC exam preparation. As an adviser to those considering studying abroad he can provide accurate advice about living in the UK and the UK lifestyle.

David Severn

David studied Art and Design at Nottingham Trent University and completed a BA in Fine Arts at the Winchester College of Art. After graduation he worked as a freelance artist in London and moved to Tokyo in the early 1990s. He is CELTA qualified and has taught English since 2001. In Tokyo, he has taught in schools and universities, and also has experience as a General and Business English instructor in language schools. In the UK, he taught English at Nottingham Trent University.

I studied Computer Systems Administration at Auckland University of Technology before heading over to the UK and Europe to work and travel, where I became interested in teaching English. When I returned to New Zealand, I acquired my TESOL qualification before heading back to Europe where I taught General English and IELTS at Universities, High Schools, and private schools. I settled in Italy, living there for 10 years and becoming fluent in Italian. I have only been in Japan a short time and I’m looking forward to seeing more of the country and meeting new people.

Michael Blake

Michael acquired a BS in Computer Science from the University of Wales, and worked as a company infrastructure specialist, touching many cultures and providing services that valued personal communication. After having worked in the IT industry for ten years, he came to Japan in 2008 to fulfill his long-term ambition of living abroad. Since then he has taught elementary school students, junior high school students, university students, and businesspeople for more than eight years. 

Katharine Hill

Katharine graduated with a BA in Computer Visualization and Animation from the University of Bournemouth. She became interested in teaching while studying at university and taught English to Japanese students during the summer. After graduation, she studied TEFL course for one year, created visual media at Bournemouth College and came to Japan to teach English. She has taught English in various contexts from young learner courses to everyday conversation to IELTS preparation courses.
