
The University of Central Lancashire (or UCLan) is a university based in Preston, Lancashire.
The University of Central Lancashire is a modern university with its roots dating back to 1828. It is home to students and staff from many different social and ethnic backgrounds across the UK, and from almost every country in the world. UCLan offers over 500 undergraduate courses and approximately 250 taught postgraduate programmes, serving 32,000 students over 100 different nationalities on its campus. The university is the fifth largest in the UK in terms of student numbers.

Burnley Campus is the result of a £10 million investment by UCLan that brought University education to the town for the first time. The initiative is part of an £81 million expansion plan that will also create the most up-to-date facilities for Burnley College incorporating a sixth form centre and a separate skills and adult centre. The new facility opened to students in September 2009.
UCLan's new Westlakes Campus in West Cumbria delivers University Education for Britain's Energy Coast. The campus offers support to local people, employers, new business and other stakeholders, and is an important contibutor to the ongoing prosperity of the area.
