Scholarships at ロバート・ゴードン大学

The GREAT Scholarships 2024 programme, launched by the British Council together with 72 UK universities, supports postgraduate students to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

The scholarship programme offers financial support of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects. Students selected for this prestigious scholarship will be expected to be ambassadors Robert Gordon University and on completion of their master’s programme act as an ambassador for the GREAT scholarship, possibly speaking with future students interested in studying in the UK to share their experience.

Please note that applicants should be passport holders of Ghana, India or Pakistan.

• To be eligible, applicants must have met all conditions (excluding deposit payment) by 19 May 2024.

• Be a citizen of Ghana, India or Pakistan.

• Have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a postgraduate programme at a UK university.

• Motivated and academically able to follow and benefit from a UK postgraduate taught course.

• Active in the field with work experience or with a proven interest in the proposed subject area.

• Meet the English language requirement of the UK Higher Education Institution.

• Willing to embody the UK Higher Education experience, by attending lectures and tutorials and engaging with extra-curricular activities, and act as an ambassador for UK Higher Education, by promoting the value of studying at a UK HEI.

• Willing to establish an engagement with the UK as a scholar, through personal and academic fulfilment.

• Represent the high standards of the GREAT brand by becoming an advocate for scholarships.

• Willing to attend a networking event of all UK-based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK.

• Where other scholarships have been awarded, the higher of the sum of the financial award, scholarship or discount, will be applied. Only one award can be held per offer.

• University scholarship, financial award and discount will be awarded upon enrolment at the University.

• Discounts will be awarded at the discretion of the University.

• The most beneficial individual award for each student, the higher of the sum of the financial award, scholarship or discount, will be applied. Only one award can be held per offer.

• RGU Scholarships and Awards are for self-funding students only.

This prestigious scholarship is aimed at attracting talented students who have graduated from NCUK Schools. This award can not be used in conjunction with any other scholarship, financial award or discount.

• have an offer to study one of the selected full time on campus courses at RGU.

• meet all of the conditions of their offer prior to the deadline.

• be a self-funded, international fee-paying student.

• submit an application form prior to the deadline.

• be willing to be an ambassador to future students of the scholarship.

RGU SPORT offers a number of sports scholarships to promising sports men and women to support them in developing their talents and succeeding in their chosen sporting field whilst undertaking academic study.

The annual scholarships are designed to help students in every aspect of their pursuit of sporting excellence. The scholarship is not primarily concerned with offering financial assistance to recipients, but is tailored to meet individual needs on a case by case basis.

Scholarships are designed to help students in every aspect of their pursuit of sporting excellence. Whether this is through their sporting development, academic success, or development of the individual through the higher education experience.

Scholarships are offered on an annual basis to athletes who are at, or close to, national standard in their given sport.

Financial assistance is awarded to support travel, training, equipment and competition expenses accrued during the academic year. 

All Scholars will receive a membership to RGU SPORT and have access to the facilities for the duration of the scholarship. A full range of services are also available to the Scholar which include:

• Fitness Testing and Anthropometry.

• Academic success support.

• Networking opportunities.

• Professional Support from Rgu Sport Staff.

• Academic flexibility.  

• Sports Performance Workshops including:

  • Nutrition workshop and consultation.

  • Performance lifestyle.

  • Physiotherapy profiling.

  • Strength and conditioning.

Other Requirements

In order to qualify for consideration of a scholarship award you must be:

• an enrolled student of the University engaged on at least a part time course at undergraduate, post graduate or research level; or

• a prospective student of the University awaiting confirmation of award of a place; or in exceptional circumstances, a former student of the University who graduated within the last 12 months.

• Competing at a level that will not only increase the standards of athletes within RGU but also the level of representation for the university within the sporting landscape.

This scholarship is for students starting in September.

Students must:

• To be eligible, applicants must have met all conditions (excluding deposit payment) by 19 May 2024.

• be applying to directly enter either year 1 or year 2 of an undergraduate course at RGU.

• hold an offer from Robert Gordon University for a full time on campus undergraduate course.

• be classed as the university as either an international or European fee payer.

• must be a self-funding student.

• be applying for the September start.  Students who are studying the January start, fast track programme are eligible to apply for this scholarship when they begin their second year in September of that same year, but the January start shorter programme is not eligible for this scholarship.

• be willing to embody the experience, by engaging with extra-curricular activities, and act as an ambassador for Robert Gordon University, by promoting the value of studying at Robert Gordon University.
