Dear PELP Student,

 

Our online accommodation application system has been activated for Pre-Sessional English Language Programme (PELP) students to apply. Please be aware that the deadlines to apply for priority in accommodation allocation for PELP applications are as follows:

 

8 week PELP students: 4th June 2010 at 4:00pm (UK Local Time)

 

4 week PELP students: 2nd July 2010 at 4.00pm (UK Local Time)

 

The allocation process for halls of residence will be on a strictly first-come-first-serve basis.

 

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: YOU WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR ACCOMMODATION, ONLY IF YOU HAVE ALREADY FIRMLY ACCEPTED YOUR OFFER TO STUDY AT ROYAL HOLLOWAY (WHICH MEANS YOUR APPLICATION STATUS CODE IS EITHER U/F = UNCONDITIONAL FIRM OR C/F = CONDITIONAL FIRM). Your Application Status Code can be checked via the Application Status Checker at http://portal.rhul.ac.uk. Please be aware that from the day you accept your offer to study, you will be able to apply online for accommodation after 2-3 working days (as this time is necessary for our system to validate your details).

 

Also, you can only apply for accommodation during the Pre-sessional Programme if you have:
a) sent a Pre-sessional application form to the Royal Holloway International Office; and
b) received a letter from the Royal Holloway International Office making you an offer of a place.

In order to register with the Student Housing Online Services, you will need to use:

 

  1. Your Student ID Number (referred to as Student Reference Number); this is a unique 9-digit number (starting with 100) issued by the University. Alternatively, new students will be able to get their Student ID number by accessing Campus Connect and clicking the "Application Status Checker" option; you will be able to access all the Application Information (including your Student ID) by logging in with your UCAS number.
  2. Your personal email address for correspondence prior to and after your arrival at Royal Holloway. 
  3. A password which will be used every time you log on to the Student Housing Online Services

 

When making your application:

 

  • When you make your application, you will need to choose ‘2010/11’ as the “Academic Session” and ‘Presessional Programme (PELP)’ as "Type of Student". You will then need to make your hall choice, (8 week PELPs must choose Penrose Court; 4 week PELPs must choose Runnymede).

 

  • Be also aware that you will need to have your credit / debit card with you to pay the accommodation application fee of £150 online, as part of your accommodation application. Our on-line payment system does not support Visa Electron, American Express or Diners Club. For more information on making this payment please visit our application fee FAQs.

 

  • After you complete the process, your online application state should be SUBMITTED and not SAVED, as SAVED applications cannot be processed. Your application will not be SUBMITTED until you have ticked the box, indicating that you have read and understood the Terms and Conditions of your application and made the £150 accommodation application payment.
